Best Blog Ever!

(Hey, allow me some hyperbole this one time...)

Yesterday I received a very nice note from the kind folks at BestBloggers informing me that my site has been chosen for inclusion in their Top 35 Political Blogs of 2010. They arrived at the listing based on a combination of reader votes, feedback from a panel of judges, and *ahem* "overall brilliance." Naturally this means big changes in store, both for this site and for me personally. In addition to showing off that nifty badge over to the right, I'm also planning to wear a homemade "Top Political Blog" t-shirt wherever I go, and when I can't get a table at a restaurant, I'm gonna get all, "Do you know who I am?"

Big plans. Very excited.

In all seriousness though, not only is this accolade completely out of the blue, it's both incredibly flattering and incredibly humbling. I've maintained this site for the last six(ish) years simply because I enjoy doing it (because, God knows, it's not like there's any money in it), so to know that there are people out there who enjoy my particular take on things enough to actually vote for me is kind of tough for me to even wrap my brain around. Like I said, flattering and humbling. To everyone who rooted for me, thanks for your show of confidence. I only hope I can keep measuring down to your expectations.

Congratulations!

I hope this recognition broadens your readership...and gets you that nicer booth by the window at Applebee's.
