Steele Trap

The comically hapless antics of RNC chair Michael Steele, RNC have long been a source of amusement with his sitcom-like string of faux pas.  True to form, he stepped in it again last week by deriding the American effort in Afghanistan, which in turn prompted a near-instantaneous torrent of angry responses from his own side of the partisan divide (especially from the rah-rah war crowd).  Needless to say, the guy hasn't done himself many favors, which makes his dogged ability to remain in the job kind of remarkable.  But as ABC's Rick Klein explains, while Steele's job is likely secure for the duration of his term, that doesn't mean he has much political capital left to rely on.
