Random TV Thought

I'm sitting here watching the first of four final episodes of Aaron Sorkin's impressively-pedigreed, impeccably-acted, ratings-starved Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and I'm realizing that I'm really gonna miss this show.

Watch it while you can.

Three more weeks.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I will miss it--I'm kind of pumped about the idea of having one less show on my calendar. But I have to admit that after a long stagnant period, the show appears to have found its footing recently. Last night's episode was interesting, thoughtful, and artful--I especially enjoyed the trip through Matt and Harriet's relationship and the ongoing fight they've been having. I just hope Sorkin had enough advance warning that this series would be one-and-done that he was able to come up with a compelling finale.

STUDIO 60 was pretty much the only prime-time show I made time for, so my calendar was relatively clear. :-)

As far as knowing it was ending, given the trend of ratings from the beginning, Sorkin HAD to know that his show wasn't gonna go the distance...
